Things Are Going to Slide

This upcoming novel, set in south Alabama, features Marilee Carson Cooper.  Marilee, eight and half months pregnant and director of a clinical legal aid program at Alabama Southern University law school, discovers, within a matter of hours, that her first love -- who broke her heart -- has been chosen for the endowed law school chair she covets, that her emotionally solid, always reliable mother is leaving town, with no set plans to return, and that her adorable four-year-old-daughter, Ellie, may have developmental problems because she can’t hop on one foot.

And, if that isn’t enough to worry about, the law school clinic’s clients are proving more challenging than usual.  One of them -- an unwed teen mom -- is accused of child abuse, while another client’s DNA tests reveal that not only aren’t any of the three men tested the father of the child, but the client isn’t the mother either.
